Description: Amateur or professional artists and photographers from all over Northumberland County will once again display their work during Spirit of the Hill's 10th Annual Juried Art and Photography Show & Sale on Saturday, March 13th and Sunday, March 14th.
This year's adjudication will be conducted by Sylvat Aziz. Professor Aziz is a practising artist and professor of painting and drawing in the Department of Art at Queen's University. She holds Masters degrees in literature and in art. Her studies began in Lahore, Pakistan then on to Pratt Institute, New York, and Concordia University, Montreal. She has exhibited sculpture and painting at Venice; Istanbul; Bradford, England; New Delhi and Lahore, as well as many major public and university galleries in Canada.
Prize sponsors are Eclectic Mix in Warkworth, “Best in Show” ($250), Meirion Jones, Sutton Group - Northumberland Realty in Warkworth “Best Photography” ($100) and “Best 3 Dimensional/Mixed Media” ($100) and The Painted Tree (Art Supplies) in Cobourg “Painting/Drawing” ($100). Description: With so many crafts to show and sell at the festival, we have added a second venue just south of Warkworth's Main Street. Head up the hill at the south end of town.
